Privacy Policy
Who we are
Wise Wallet Weekly publishes personal finance articles, reviews, guides, news, and related content for adults in the United States. The site is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We are based in the United States and operate the site from there.
Scope
This policy applies to wisewalletweekly.com and any subdomains we operate. It does not apply to third-party websites, products, services, or tools we link to, even when those links are placed on our pages. Those third parties have their own policies.
What information we collect
We do not currently operate forms on this site that ask you for your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, account application information, or other contact details. If that changes (for example, if we launch a newsletter), we will update this policy.
Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically receive certain technical and usage information when you visit, which may include:
- IP address and approximate location derived from that IP address;
- device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen size, and language;
- the page that referred you to us and any search terms or campaign parameters in the URL;
- pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and links or buttons clicked;
- outbound clicks to advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate partners;
- dates, times, and frequency of visits, and cookie or device identifiers.
We may also receive information from analytics, advertising, and affiliate measurement partners that helps us understand site traffic, ad performance, conversions, and whether a visit led to an action on a partner's site.
Categories of personal information (CPRA framework)
For visitors covered by California or similar state privacy laws, the information described above generally falls into these statutory categories:
- Identifiers (such as IP address, cookie IDs, and device identifiers);
- Internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed, clicks, referring URL, and interactions with ads);
- Geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP address);
- Inferences drawn from the above (such as inferred interest categories used by ad platforms).
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government IDs, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or other categories of sensitive personal information.
Sources of information
We collect information directly from your browser or device when you visit, and we receive information from analytics, advertising, and affiliate measurement partners that help us understand site traffic and outcomes.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website;
- understand site traffic, article performance, and reader behavior;
- measure and improve advertising, affiliate links, referrals, and conversions;
- display and measure interest-based advertising, including through ad networks;
- detect spam, fraud, security issues, abuse, or technical problems;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Cookies, pixels, and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, tags, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the site, measure traffic, remember basic preferences, attribute affiliate referrals, prevent abuse, and measure or improve advertising.
Specific tools currently in use, or that may be used, include:
- Google Analytics 4 — site analytics and audience measurement;
- Google Ads — advertising, remarketing, and conversion measurement;
- Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — advertising, audience building, and conversion measurement;
- Amazon Associates and CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — affiliate link tracking and commission attribution;
- standard hosting, content delivery, and security providers needed to serve the site.
Each of these providers operates under its own privacy policy and uses information it receives for its own purposes, which may include cross-site or cross-context behavioral advertising.
How information is shared
We share information with:
- Service providers that host the site, deliver content, provide analytics, detect abuse, or otherwise help us run the site;
- Advertising and measurement partners (including Google and Meta) that help us deliver and measure advertising;
- Affiliate networks and merchants when you click an affiliate link, so the click and any resulting action can be attributed to us;
- Authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, or a reasonable government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect rights, safety, security, or the integrity of the site;
- A successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not sell personal information for money. Because we use Meta Pixel, Google Ads, and similar advertising tools, some of the information described above may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) and similar state laws. See Your privacy rights & how to opt out below.
Data retention
We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Analytics data is generally retained for up to 26 months at the platform level, then aggregated. Advertising platforms apply their own retention windows, which we do not control. We may retain information longer when needed to comply with legal, tax, accounting, audit, or security obligations, or to resolve disputes and enforce our terms.
Data security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate for a small informational website. No website, server, or internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is intended for adults in the United States and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your privacy rights & how to opt out
Browser and device controls
You can limit or block cookies and similar technologies through your browser or device settings. Blocking cookies may affect site functionality, personalization, and advertising attribution.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Where required by applicable law, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a valid request to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising for that browser and device. GPC applies only to the browser sending the signal and only to information tied to it.
Advertising platform controls
You can manage interest-based advertising through tools provided by the platforms themselves, including settings in your Google Account, Meta/Facebook ad preferences, and the opt-out tools offered by industry groups such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (aboutads.info/choices) and the Network Advertising Initiative (optout.networkadvertising.org). These controls are operated by the platforms, not by Wise Wallet Weekly.
State privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under your state's privacy law, including rights to:
- know what categories of personal information we collect, use, share, or sell;
- access a copy of personal information about you in our possession;
- correct inaccurate personal information;
- delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
- opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information and of targeted advertising;
- opt out of certain profiling that produces significant effects;
- appeal a denial of a privacy request, where state law provides this right;
- not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising any of these rights.
These rights vary by state and apply to residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws, which currently include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Florida (limited), Delaware, Iowa, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota, Maryland, Tennessee, Indiana, Kentucky, and Rhode Island, with additional states coming online over time.
How to submit a request
To submit a privacy request, email hello@wisewalletweekly.com with the subject line "Privacy request" and include the request type (access, deletion, correction, opt-out of sale/sharing, opt-out of targeted advertising, or appeal), the state you reside in, and enough information for us to verify the request. Because we generally do not collect names or contact information through forms on this site, we may need to ask for additional information such as IP address ranges, device identifiers, or approximate dates of visits to locate any data tied to you. We will respond within the timeframe required by your state's law.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
Do Not Track
There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to a browser "Do Not Track" signal, and we do not currently respond to it. We do honor Global Privacy Control as described above.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
Terms of Use
Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using Wise Wallet Weekly, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
Eligibility
The site is intended for adults located in the United States who are at least 18 years old. By using the site you confirm that you meet those requirements. The site is not directed to or intended for users outside the United States, and we make no representation that the content is appropriate or available in other jurisdictions.
Informational content only — not financial advice
Wise Wallet Weekly publishes general educational and informational content. We are not your financial advisor, investment advisor, tax advisor, legal advisor, broker, lender, insurance agent, bank, or fiduciary, and no advisory or fiduciary relationship is formed by your use of the site.
Content on this site is not personalized financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, or credit advice. You are responsible for evaluating whether any product, service, strategy, or information is appropriate for your situation, and for consulting a qualified professional before making financial, tax, legal, or investment decisions.
No guarantee of accuracy or outcomes
We work to keep information useful and current, but financial products, rates, fees, laws, offers, eligibility rules, and terms can change quickly. We do not guarantee that content is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for any particular purpose.
Past performance, examples, projections, savings estimates, or side hustle income examples do not guarantee future results, and individual results will vary.
Reviews, rankings, and offers
Reviews and rankings reflect our editorial judgment at the time of publication or last update. Offers shown on this site may be provided by advertisers, affiliate partners, or other third parties and may be subject to additional terms, eligibility rules, availability, credit approval, geographic limits, or change without notice. Always confirm details on the partner's site before applying for or purchasing anything.
Advertiser & affiliate disclosure
Wise Wallet Weekly is an advertising-supported publisher and earns commissions when readers click certain links and take qualifying actions. We participate in affiliate programs including, among others, the Amazon Associates Program and CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction), and we run display advertising through providers including Google Ads and Meta. When you click an advertisement, affiliate link, or sponsored placement and take an action — for example, applying for a product, opening an account, making a purchase, or signing up for a service — we may receive compensation at no additional cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
Compensation may influence which products, partners, or categories we write about and where offers appear on the site, but it does not change our commitment to explaining material tradeoffs honestly. See our editorial standards and how we make money for more on how we choose partners and check our work.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, or harmful purposes;
- attempt to interfere with, disable, scrape at scale, or disrupt the site or its infrastructure;
- use automated systems, bots, or AI agents to access the site in a way that imposes an
unreasonable load, except for compliant search-engine crawling consistent with our
robots.txt; - copy, republish, or exploit site content except as allowed by law or with our written permission;
- misrepresent your relationship with Wise Wallet Weekly or our partners;
- introduce malicious code or attempt unauthorized access to any system or account.
Intellectual property
The articles, design, logos, graphics, code, and other content on this site are owned by Wise Wallet Weekly or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may link to our pages and may use short excerpts with attribution where legally permitted. All other use requires our prior written permission.
Third-party websites and offers
The site links to third-party websites, products, services, applications, advertisers, and affiliate partners. We do not control those third parties and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, terms, pricing, eligibility decisions, customer service, or availability. Your dealings with them are between you and them.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including without limitation warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, title, availability, uninterrupted service, or security. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
In no event shall Wise Wallet Weekly, or any of its officers, directors, employees, contributors, service providers, or affiliates be held liable for any damages (including any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages) arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the site, even if we or such persons have been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damages, whether such liability is asserted under contract, tort, or any other legal theory.
Indemnification
You hereby indemnify, defend, release, and hold harmless Wise Wallet Weekly and any of its officers, directors, employees, contributors, service providers, and affiliates, to the fullest extent permitted by law, from and against any and all liabilities, costs, demands, causes of action, damages, and expenses arising in any way related to your breach of any of the provisions of these terms.
Governing law and venue
These terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or your use of the site are governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. You and we agree that the state and federal courts located in Maine will have exclusive jurisdiction over any such dispute, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including any violation of these terms.
Severability, waiver, assignment, entire agreement
If any provision of these terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision. You may not assign or transfer these terms; we may. These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the site, and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, internet or hosting outages, or government action.
Changes
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
